You know, if it weren't for the xanga subscription digest, I would've forgotten that I even had a blog. Nevertheless, I think I might start making some semi-regular entries again. It's unfortunate that 99.8% of my readership is gone now, though. Oh well...

Things always have a way of working themselves out in the end.  For instance, that computer science project that ate up all of my free time last weekend: my group didn't really finish it, but thanks to an elaborate setup of smoke and mirrors, we finished with a 96% on it.

Friday was a great time.  I got to catch up with a few people I haven't seen in a while, especially this guy.  Tony is a great guy and I should have hung around him more this semester.  I wish the best for him in the future as he tries to find his true calling.

I ended up being the D.D. Friday night, though, which actually turned out to make for an interesting night.  I wound up: making a $90 beer run to Wal-Mart at midnight, going to a party where being a straight male was almost unheard of, getting myself stuck in a little bit of drama, and going to IHOP at 4:30 a.m. with the aforementioned Tony.

Friday night made me realize how much I actually miss being around Selleck.  Fuck working.  The people that I know there made it worth it.  Of course, I know I made the right choice to quit both of my jobs over there and work at the computer labs instead.  I did hear from this little lady that there might be something going down Thursday night.  I'm done with finals Wednesday, so I'll certainly be up for it.

Thursday I ran into an old friend of mine whom I used to go to middle school with back in Hastings.  She apparently transferred here from Doane this year, and I just haven't managed to see her.  As cool as it was to see Sherri, it was even more shocking to find out that my very first "girlfriend", Jessica, is also going to UNL.  It'd be great to catch up with both Sherri and Jessica, especially the latter since there's still a few things that have been left unsaid.  Time will tell what happens, I suppose.

I'm contemplating getting my hair trimmed up a bit.  Thank God for $10 Tuesdays.

I really want one of these.

Does he ever get the girl?

Tired.

Don't take sleep for granted.

The "dead" in dead week describes the students, not the classes.

If you were to look at me right now, you could tell that I'm just about ready to fall over.  It's like last semester all over again.

Thanks to my drinking buddy, I almost got into a drunken fight downtown after the bars closed last night.  We would have been pounded since it would have been two against seven.  I don't usually like those sort of odds.

Is there any sort of cure for laziness?  If so, I am badly in need of it.  I suppose I can just try to do everything tomorrow.  However, I said the exact same thing yesterday...

There's some sort of weird pain in my right leg.  It's not always there, but when it's there it feels like my fibula is about to snap in two.  Lovely.

When did P. Diddy whore himself out to Proactiv?  The man has hundreds of millions of dollars, but he still needs more sources of income?  I thought being a puppet for Pepsi was bad enough.  Whatever.

Online dating doesn't work.  You'd have a better chance of getting your hand bitten off by a seal than successfully dating someone you met online.

I'm still trying to figure out what I should do tonight.  What I most likely will end up doing will revolve around gross amounts of alcohol.  I know what you're thinking.  "Healthy.  Very healthy."  If I refrain from going out, I must just stay in and play video games.  "Nerdy.  Very nerdy."  I'm an incredible mind reader!

I just wasted three more minutes of your life.  Awesome!

Lately, things seem to be looking up for me...

- I got a promotion at my job!  Instead of a lab consultant, I will now be a facilities assistant!  This means that I will be going around from lab to lab, making sure the computers are all up to date and running properly.  While I do not think there is any sort of pay raise involved, the simple fact that I will get to do a lot more fun and interesting technical stuff has me pretty pumped for the summer.  This is my first promotion of any kind, which would explain my elation.

- I applied for an internship with these guys, and instead of rejecting my application, they were really interested in having me fill one of their full-time positions!  I was told by them that I was a very skilled and qualified applicant, and that I should let them know when I will be out of school and able to work for them on a full-time basis.  (It's always nice to know that you're wanted.)

- It's looking more and more likely that Arrested Development will remain on the air.  AD is the funniest show that I have ever seen, which means it's even funnier than Seinfeld!  There is just no substitute for the pure genius behind it.

- Had a nice little chat with my Freshman year roommate Chris this morning.  We're gonna go out to the bars sometime and catch up, which should be fun.

- The living situation for next year is not as dire as I once thought.  Things will probably turn out all right and I'll find a roommate or two.

- I have a girlfriend now! Sorry, that's just wishful thinking...
